In 1995, the relocation of Sparkle to Surrey was met with grave opposition from Nelson. Already worn and tired from anchoring the workshop for many years, the move left him isolated from the jewelry community he loved. After much soul-searching, Nelson parted ways with Sparkle and, leaving his family behind in Vancouver, returned to Hong Kong.
